The start of the wedding season! In February, I had one of my first brides of the new season to use the services of Absolutely Gorgeous BCN for her wedding. This time the couple, Emily & Patrick were from Chicago and had chosen Barcelona as the city to get married in because they wanted to do something different and Barcelona happens to be one of their favourite cities.

Emily had contacted the wedding planner Clare from Barcelona Wedding for some help with the organisation of their wedding. Barcelona Wedding had recommended Absolutely Gorgeous BCN and so I met Emily for her wedding hair and make-up trial at the end of February.
Wedding Hair & Make-up Style – a Romantic Touch
Emily requested a romantic style for her wedding and she had brought some pictures to show me as examples. This always makes it a bit easier as I can get a clearer picture of which hair and make-up style the bride was looking for exactly.
The actual styling of the hair
Emily has long, naturally wavy hair but she had it blow-dried straight when I met her. I curled it with the GHD Straightening iron (yes you can curl with it as well!) and I created something I thought looked similar to the pictures she had shown me and that worked well with the style of her dress as well. For the day of the wedding, Emily also wanted a flower attached to the hair, which was a great idea to give the hairstyle an even more romantic touch.
Soft Pink Glossy Lips for a Romantic Wedding Make-Up
For the make up I wanted to create something romantic as well and used soft tones such as pink on her cheeks, gold shimmery eyes and soft pink glossy lips. To make her eyes stand out more and for an even more romantic look I also used false eyelashes.
The Result

Emily was very happy with the trial and so was I. Our next meeting was for the wedding day on the following Saturday when I also, in addition to the bride, prepared her mother’s hair & make-up and the make-up of three other guests.
A great start to the season, I have to say.
