One of the weddings from summer 2014 at beautiful Häringe Slott, Stockholm

Last weekend’s wedding was our last booked wedding of the season for 2014 in Stockholm. I’m so grateful for all the lovely brides I had the pleasure to work with this year so i thought I would share a few of them from this year with you in my upcoming blogposts.

The first wedding I would like to share with you is Clara and Joakims wedding at Häringe Slott just South of Stockholm.

I met Clara through my collaborating wedding planner Wedding In Sweden. Clara and I first met for a trial run to decide which hair and makeup style she wanted to go for on her wedding day. She had beforehand sent me a few images of hairstyles that she liked and also a photo of her dress so that everything would come together beautifully. Clara told me she loved braids and that she wanted to incorporate that into the hairstyle somehow and also that she wanted to to have all her hair up.

We tried some different hairstyle types and finally decided on a low bun with a french braid lying on top of the bun. As for makeup Clara wanted a nice natural makeup with the focus on her eyes. I used the shade Vex from Mac as a lid colour (my favourite for brides!) and different shades from the palette Butt naked eyes by Nyx. I also did hair and makeup for Claras lovely bridesmaid and hair for her gorgeous daughter both of them also got braids incorporated into their hairstyles to match Clara. It was a lovely happy wedding day and everything went really well, to read Clara’s comment about my work, please go to the testimonial page. The photographer at the wedding was Daniel Gual, below are a few of his photos from Clara’s wedding day. To see more of Daniel Gual’s work please click here.

Looking back at 2013 and wishing you a Happy New Year!

The year has almost come to an end it has been a very busy year with lots of changes, I moved back to Stockholm after 13 years living abroad. It has been a great wedding year with over 30 weddings completed between my excellent team in Barcelona and myself in both Stockholm and Barcelona.

I’ve gained lots of new contacts this year and among them I started to collaborate with Wedding In Sweden, see previous post where we interviewed Johanna. We already have weddings booked together for next year and I’m very excited to join Wedding in Sweden at Bröllopsfeber at Nacka Strand 26-27 January 2014, Sweden’s largest Wedding event. More about this and where you can find us at the event soon.
Apart from weddings Ive also been busy doing other things. In June for example, I completed the mentoring project for Karteena in Malaysia where I supported her to grow her mobile hair treatment business and it was really giving and we still stay in touch. I was also doing hair and make up for Wivica Oest where it was a tough 11 day work at the photo shoot but I really enjoyed it so might be something I will do more of in the future. There I also got a chance to work with very skilful wedding photographer Ian Johnson who I worked with at an Austrian/Swedish wedding in October this year.
I hope you all had a great 2013 and that next year will be even better. I’m excited to work with more international brides both in Stockholm and Barcelona and will also get married myself in March (!) so then it’s my turn to be beautified for the big day 🙂

Thank you all for your support in 2013 and I wish you all a very Happy New Year!

Wedding venues in Stockholm and its surroundings

The school has started and autumn is officially here although we’ve had lovely wedding weather up in Stockholm this month. This summer, I have visited several beautiful wedding venues in Stockholm and its surroundings and I want to highlight especially three of them that are worth checking out if you are looking for a wedding venue for next year or any other celebration. If you are looking for wedding venues in Barcelona, don’t miss our previous posts where we blogged about Ancient Wedding Venues and Wedding Venus in Barcelona.

Last month, I had a wedding in Hässelby slott (Hässelby Castle) or actually the name has now been changed and it is spelled Hesselby slott (Hesselby Castle) as it was spelled originally. This castle is very special and is currently owned by the famous Swedish singer Tomas Ledin. It is also said that the rooms in the castle has been decorated by famous artist. Every room has a very modern and nice decoration and is a nice contrast to the castle from 1650. Hesselby castle is located just outside and has 68 rooms and is ideal for getting married. Have a look yourself at http://www.hesselbyslott.se/

Another lovely wedding venue in Stockholm, Sweden is Stallmästargården which is located out in the green Haga Park although very close to the city center. This is also where princess Victoria and her family actually lives.  This wedding venue is ideal for weddings and has several small venues inside to choose from depending on the size of your wedding. See more: http://www.stallmastaregarden.se/brollop-fest.

Another very beautiful and green wedding venue in Stockholm is the Villa Källhagen that is located on Djurgården. This area is one of my favourite strolling areas and also wedding venues. It is located just by the sea, and I have also been told that Benny Andersson from ABBA has his house nearby.

If you have any questions or you have other tips about wedding venues in Stockholm we’d love to hear from you.
